I’ve been walking the single path for quite some time. I do admit, sometimes by choice. They say not to be picky, and believe me, the guys I seem to be attracted to will let you know that I’m not picky at all. However, the guys attracted to me………well……….my point I just proved kind of goes down the drain.
I’m in my junior year of college, and what is everyone doing around me? Getting drunk, doing drugs, having sex. Not to say this is the path I should be on, but I’m getting a little impatient on the waiting list here.
So, I’ve had a lot of time to think about this, and I’ve composed a list of fictional men that have qualities I look for and am attracted too. Again, they are FICTIONAL meanin, none of these qualities pretty much exist in a man. But they do in the movies…….maybe that’s why I chose this profession……
Man #1- Rob Gordon (High Fidelity)
His music selection. Now, Rob’s obsession with music pretty much ruined all of his relationships because he loved music more than the girls. Understandable for jealous girlfriends. However, I probably love music more then I will love any man. So that’s what makes Rob and I a perfect match. Plus his vinyl collection is AMAZING.
Man #2-The Beast (Beauty and the Beast)
His temper. If I yell at you, don’t sit there at take it. Odd’s are I’m yelling at you because I want you to yell back and then we can have a hot make-up, make-out session right there on the spot. The beast knows how to treat a women. After all he did end of getting the prettiest girl in France. :)
Man #3- Cameron Fry (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off)
His insecurities. It’s cute!!! Cameron has insecurities, but he had humour to back him up, which made for an adorable combination. Forget Ferris! I care about Cameron!
Man #4- Bert (Mary Poppins)
His hidden talents! Such as a painter, or dancer, or singer! Like Bert!!!! Bert just keeps on smiling, and you never know what’s up his sleeve, but it’s always a surprise and always magical. AND HE CLEANS! A MAN THAT CLEANS!!!!! And that’s how we know he’s fictional, not because of the dancing penguins….
Man #5- Christian (Moulin Rouge!)
His creativeness! This man wrote a whole musical about LOVE! LOVE IS A MANY….SPLENDED THING! LOVE….LIFTS US UP WHERE WE BELONG! ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE! Words from a Poet! (Okay, so all of these are lyrics from already created songs, but it’s a movie, so shhhhh!!!) Christian’s voice as well……..WOW!
Man #6-Fitzwilliam Darcy A.K.A Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)
Well, Mr. Darcy is the most perfect man ever created. And that isn’t only my opinion, it’s probably the opinion of many, many women. But it’s true. I can’t pin-point one quality, because he is perfect in every single way. I just advice all men to be like Mr. Darcy, and then we will see world peace, or at least a lot of love making…..
Man #7- Mr. Tumnus (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe)
He likes kids! And not really in a creepy pedophile way. It’s cute. So, the love making can be REALLY REALLY awkward…………but, well…….I can’t really say more about this.
Man #8- Ronald Miller (Can’t Buy Me Love)
His nerdy-ness! Before he was McDreamy, he was McGeeky, and I liked it that way! Ronald Miller knows the right thing to do in the end! (Even if he does screw it over by getting drunk and reading your poetry aloud) But he’s nerdy, and funny, and CUTE! Plus he doesn’t mind mowing the lawn, or paying you money, even if you’re not a hooker!
Man #9- Noel Crane (Felicity)
His advice! Noel was the RA on campus in Felicity world, and he knew how to give the BEST advice. How do I know this? Because you always ended up making out with him in the end. He MUST have been telling those girls something! You need a man that listens, and a guy that is smart about things. Like Noel!
Man #10- Jude (Across the Universe)
HIS ACCENT! I don’t care if you’re telling me I’m a ho, or you need to go take a piss, it’ll sound sexy either way!!!!!! Yummy!!!!! Even better, he sings, AND YOU CAN HEAR HIS ACCENT WHILE HE SINGS! Jude makes Art as well! Just call me “Luv” and I’m done for life!
Man #11- Jim Stark (Rebel Without a Cause)
The title says it all! He’s a rebel! And he has no reason to be! A true, sexy bad boy that loves you in the end. He likes to take risks, and be different, and look sexy in that jacket. Yummmmmm!
Man #12- Ned, The Pie Maker (Pushing Daisies)
He’s magical and old fashioned!!!!! He doesn’t care that he can’t touch you or kiss you or sleep with you. He finds ways to love you, in unique, cute, adorable ways. Plus he bakes! And he bakes PIES! And he’s MAGICAL! Ned is PERFECT!
So if you happen to obtain any of these qualities, please let me know, perhaps you might change my mind to “Why “Real” Men are better than “Fake” Men.”
But for now……I’m sticking to the books….
