yay!!!! today i’m posting some photos i have wanted to post for 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been doing little odds and ends craft jobs around the chateau. it feels good and productive. that’s just how i need to feel right now also. today i filled out a w-9 tax form, yuck, why do i have to start dealing with this stuff? oh well. i think most people think that when you grow up you have to act and feel a certain way, and i think differently. can’t we all play and be crafty as we get older? like fine wine, we age better, and i think i want to age with creatively and fun. peter pan suddenly makes all the since in the world to me.
i’ll start with the tea room. my mom and i went to this lovely tea room in town that use to be around the corner from my old apt. i’ve always wanted to go but never had a reason. well now i had a reason, and so so happy that i did.
it’s called the whimsical tea cup. it’s decorated with shades of pink and pretty prints on the table cloths and china that i could only imagine marie antoinette would dine off of. we had a “whimsical tea” which was lovely, it was our choice of tea, a salad, and then an overwhelming course of scones, petite sandwiches, and tiny desserts with different butters and creams to try on each one. the only thing i loved more than the lunch? their powder room, it was sooooo cute. pictures are below, enjoy:

two weeks ago my friends and i decided to have a picnic in the park and watch the sunset. unfortunately about 30 minutes before it began the sky closed up and began to cry. we moved the picnic indoors and had fun, but for dessert i made cream puff cupcakes. they looked better then they tasted, but they still tasted good:

add a little bit of cream:
top it with whipped cream and chocolate:
ta-da! magic:
lastly, i have had my eye on chalkboard paint for quite some time. when i moved into the chateau a dishwasher was not included because i don’t pay enough. :( (fyi: i “hate” doing dishes) oh well, what can you do? so there was this big gap in my kitchen that they covered with a piece of wood. it was just sitting there, and i thought, “wouldn’t it be lovely if it were like a little cafe sign?” and so a project was born.
here is the original space with some wood stains from an experimental night cooking lobster:

the supplies:

2 coats and 4 days of waiting:

sprinkle a little bit of magic:

and add a very true quote from “alice in wonderland:”
and there you have it my friends. i just occupied about 2 minutes of your time, now go figure out what to do with the rest of your life. suggestions? if you are in the mood for a movie, i highly suggest watching “the other sister.” it’s one of my favourite films, and i re-watched it last night. it makes me so happy.
if you are not in the mood for a flic, and you want some new sweet, sweet music, then I suggest grizzly bear’s “veckatimest” i found it 2 days ago and i’ve already listened to it for over a dozen times. especially the songs “two weeks,” “ready, able” and “southern point.”
ahem, that’s it for now. perhaps a vlog that is soon to come? we’ll see………..
xoxo,
