i keep documents of quotes i adore. quotes from films, music, people, books, etc.
perhaps one of my favourite quotes ever is from lee pace’s character in pushing daisies. he is talking to the love of his life, chuck, and it goes like this:
chuck: is it strange?
ned: it’s not strange, unusual maybe eccentric in a quaint way, like dessert spoons.
chuck: i have so many questions, my mind wanders.
ned: you need to feed it warm milk and a turkey sandwich, let it curl up in a sunny spot and take a nap.
when my mind wanders or i feel anxiety or loneliness i think of this quote, and it makes me so eternally happy. so warm and comforted.
i think i will take a break from facebook. i haven’t set foot on perez hilton for four months now, with no ambition to ever return, and i want to have that attachment with facebook. it just upsets me. hoping something new is going on, someone wrote me a comment, tagged photos, etc. etc. it’s not good for my nerves. so, yes. i am taking a break.
hmmm. well. off to day dream of the pie maker.
